1. Remove the Items Kept Above it:-

In order to clean the granite countertop, you will first of all need to remove all the items that are kept above it. Make sure that every single thing is removed and then wipe it off with a dry cloth or broom so as to remove the dirt accumulated over it in the period of time. The stuff removed should be kept in a corner in such a way that it may stay safe and does not troubles anyone while moving as well.

2. Do Not use Acidic Substances on It:-

It has been found that some acidic substances may prove to be ideal for cleaning the other stuff in your house, but in case of the granite countertops, most of the acids prove to have a deteriorating effect and make it weak and easily breakable and this is why we will advise you not to use any sort of acid with it.

3. Use Clean White Cloth to wipe Off the Normal Dirt:-

Take either a clean white cloth or take the cotton strips to wipe off the normal dirt. You can rub off the cotton balls tightly up the surface of granite countertop to remove the tough dirt stains and the other small stains that get normally removed with normal rubbing of cloth over it with a tight hand.

4. Baking Soda for Tough Stains:-

In case the stains are somewhat tough and do not go after physically wiping off with a cloth or cotton ball, simply mix up some baking soda with water and bring it in use to wipe off the tough stains dipping the cotton ball in the dilute baking soda solution and rubbing the stains with it.

5. Water Plus Oil for Shining:-

The shine that is lost over a period of time can be bought back with some oil mixed with water and using it to wipe off the countertop afterwards, but remember that the amount of oil in water should me in a small amount only as most of it will keep floating over water and the countertop will attract more dirt if much oil is applied to it. Just have two or three drops oil added to the water and then wipes off the countertop with it or else brings some granite countertop cleaner liquid to avoid the hazards while cleaning.
