lung cancer is another type of aggressive forms of cancers occuring in a human body. Lung cancer can also be called as carcinoma of the lung or simply pulmonary carcinoma. pulmonary carcinoma is a malignant lung tumor which can be chategorized by the uncontrolled number of cells growth of tissues in the lungs. if the cancer is left untreated, the growth of these tissues can spread beyond the lung into nearby tissue or other parts of the body by a process called metastasis. though lung cancer remains curable in the first stage, but if found in a later stage, the lung cancer can prove to be life taking. most of the cancer forms that start in the lung or primary lung cancers are always carcinomas that derive from epithelial cell.
Lung Cancer Symptoms and What it is
The main primary types or epithelial cells derived lung cancers are small-cell lung carcinoma or SCLC and non- small-cell lung carcinoma or NSCLC. The most common symptoms of this disease are coughing that can sometimes cause coughing up of blood from body or blood vomiting. Or weight loss in some cases as a result of weekness, shortness of breath, and hence resulting in shere chest pains. The vast majority about eighty to ninety percent of the cases of lung cancer are results of a long-term exposure to tobacco smoke or other tobacco products.
Lung cancer may be found to occur on the tests based on chest radiographs and computed tomography or ct scans. The diagnosis of this disease is confirmed by biopsy that is usually performed by bronchoscopy or Computed Tomography guidance. treatment of this disease largely depends on the stage the patient suffering is dealing with and the long-term outcomes depend on cancer type, degree of spread of the cancer , and the person’s overall health, measured by the performance status. Common treatments include surgical options, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.
About ten to fifteen percent of the of cases occur in people, who have never smoked in their life. These cases are often caused by a combination of genetic factors and exposure to radon gas, asbestos, or other forms of air pollution, including second-hand smoke. If your father or your friend or some other relative smokes sitting on a sofa near you, then you are also likely to inhale some of the smoke known as second hand smoke and even you are likely to develop lung cancer.
