How To Use Pen Drive As RAM
RAM is the memory that makes multi tasking possible with any device. We open or run multiple applications in a single time in any device let it be computer or laptop or smart phone or any other such gadget, RAM makes this possible and comes useful even in game playing as well as downloading. The pen drive which is an external memory source can be used in order to replace the RAM with it makes all these functions happening within any device increasing the PC speed and if you also wish to do the same, you may choose to go for the tips that are described here:-
How To Use Pen Drive As RAM
1. Insert the pen drive and let it get installed:-
In order to use your pen drive as RAM, you would first of all need to insert it to the dedicated port for it and then you would have to wait for the pen drive to get recognized by the system. The pen drive would get installed and then you would be able to access it with the help of my computer icon in the start menu.
2. Make a right click over “My Computer” icon:-
Now when the pen drive gets installed and recognized, you simply have to make a right click over the ‘My computer” icon and then you would get a variety of options from which you have to click the properties option that enables you to set the properties for my computer.
3. Reach the properties and click on the advance tab in properties window:-
Now I think the last option would be of properties and after you make a click over it, there would be an option for advance tab in the properties. Make a click over this option and then you can make further changes to the advance settings.
4. Click settings in performance option:-
There would be an option for performance in the advance settings that you may bring in use to make changes to the system. You have to use this option in order to use your pen drive as RAM provided the Pen drive should be at least 2GB in size.
5. Reach the advance tab again and click the change button in virtual memory option:-
Now you have to reach the advance tab again and then you have to click the change button again with virtual memory option clicking which you would be able to make the desired specifications setting which the pen drive can be bought in use as RAM.
6. Select the USB drive and give the values in custom size option:-
After you have clicked the change button in virtual memory option, you would need to select the USB drive and then give the desired values to it in the custom size option. 1024 suits the best, but this can even change from pen drive to pen drive and thus this should be confirmed first of all and then entering the value and clicking the OK button, the pen drive can be bought in use as RAM.
