A microwave oven is an electronic home appliance which can be bought in use for heating or cooking the food with electromagnetic radiations in the microwave spectrum. It also makes you able to make eatables like pizzas, sandwiches, cakes etc. be made instantly. Actually, a microwave emits waves with wavelengths ranging from as long as one meter down to as short as one millimeter. Microwaves give you a long-life and better cooking experience if you use them properly and the proper way to use a microwave is as follows:-
How to Use Microwave Oven for Heating and Cooking
1. Plug Your Microwave:-
After reading the safety instructions that come written on a leaflet with your microwave, you should plug it on to a switchboard first. After the microwave gets plugged in, a small light will start glowing at its front. This is the place where you are provided with a variety of buttons and a small screen which shows you the temperature readings.
2. Set the Time:-
Now suppose you wish to make a cake in the oven, you should make the batter first of all and then you have to place the batter into microwave utensils in order to place it inside the microwave. Now all what you have to do is to set the time and after the time gets set, you can easily get the cake baked perfectly.
3. Pre Heating Mode for Cooking Some Dishes:-
You have to keep your microwave on pre heating mode for cooking some dishes. This is generally done for making cakes and puddings. If you make a dish from some recipe book, look for the pre heating timing in it to decide till when you need to preheat your oven. There are two kinds of oven, one is a digital oven with numbers and the other one has a dial which can be turned clockwise in order to set the temperature.
4. Cooking Utensils:-
A microwave does not operate with the normal utensils, but it operates with special microwave utensils which either come free of cost with your microwave oven or you have to purchase them separately. These utensils are designed to give you better cooking experience and thus you should purchase a set of these utensils if you do not get them in the package.
5. Microwave Actually Heats the Water Content:-
Unlike the basic baking or heating or cooking in which we heat the base of utensil to cook the dish, microwave never cooks any dish by heating the base, but instead it heats up the water content of any dish. This is perhaps the only reason why it is advised to cook dishes with maximum water content in a microwave. When the water content gets heated at perfect pre-specified temperature, even the dish gets cooked.
6. Never Cover the Food Entirely:-
You are advised never to cover any microwave utensil perfectly or tightly and it should be left open in order to let the steam escape as else your hands may get burned severely because of the steam coming out of the utensil. Though a microwave never heats the utensil and it always just heats the food, but still you should beware about this as steam always causes severe effects.
