Pleural Mesothelioma (Lungs):-
The most common type of mesothelioma is pleural mesothelioma, it is found to exist in approximately 78 % of the cases. it occurs in the linings of the lungs of the patient. the symptoms include difficulty in swallowing, fevers at night, fatigue, shortness of breath and persistent dry cough and persistent chest pain. treatment of this type of mesothelioma largely depends on the stage of cancer that can only be determined by a doctor. when diagnosed at an early stage, curative surgery can be done in the case of first stage. most of the cases in later stages are palliative.
Explain Different Types of Mesothelioma Cancer
Peritoneal Mesothelioma (Abdomen):-
It is the second common type of mesothelioma after pleural mesothelioma , this type 0f cancer develops in the petrionum. petrionum is the membrane that lines the abndominal cavity. approximately 20% of all the mesothelioma cases are peritonial. the symptoms of this type of cancer include, abdominal pain and swelling, weight loss, fatigue and vomiting. patients with this type of mesothelioma may have symptoms caused by the thickening of peritonial membrane and the fluid build up. treatment may be difficult for the patients and doctors both in this type of mesothelioma. heated chemotherapy can be done in order to treat these type of patients.
Pericardial Mesothelioma (Heart):-
Pericardial mesothelioma occurs in the rarest of the cases. pericardial mesothelioma starts in the lining of a patient’s heart. this type of cancer is rare and accounts for about one percent of the cases. this type of mesothelioma shows symptoms when fluid starts accumulating in the spaces between the layers of the pericardium. the symptoms include irregular heart beat, chest pain, difficulty in breathing, coughing, night sweats and fever and fatigue. these type of patients can be treated with palliative therapies. they surgery can be risky in these type of cases as the area is of the heart region.
Like pericardial mesothelioma, testicular mesothelioma also occurs in rare cases. testicular type of mesothelioma occurs in the linings of testicles. it occurs in 1% of the cases as this type of mesothelioma is found in rare cases, it has not been possible for the researchers to determine all of the symptoms. the two main indicators of this type of mesothelioma are testicle lumps and scrolling in the scrotum. surgery is an option to treat this type of mesothelioma.
