How are scars developed?
acne scars are the product of inflammation within the dermis brought on by acne skin problem. The scar gets created with the wound trying to heal itself resulting in too much collagen in one spot where acne gets created.
Physical acne scars are often called by people as “ice pick” scars. Although in quite rare cases , the medical condition “atrophia maculosa varioliformis cutis” can also result in “acne-like” depressed scars on the individual ‘s face. This is simply because the scars tend to develope an indentation in the skin’s surface. Though there is a wide range of treatments available.
Ice pick scars:- these can be termed as the deep pits, that are the most common and a classic sign of acne scarring.
Box car scars:- these can be explained as the angular scars that usually occur on the temple and cheeks, and can be either superficial or deep, these are similar to chickenpox scars.
Rolling scars:- scars that give the skin a wave-like appearance are called as rolling scars.
Hypertrophic scars:- thickened, or keloid scars are hypertrophic scars.
Though types are different , but each and every scar puts the same depression on a person as the others do.
What is meant by the pigmentation scars :- pigmented scars is a term that slightly misleads, as it suggests the reader to be a change in the pigmentation of the skin and that they are true scars, however that is not true.
Pigmented scars are much often the result of the painful ‘bumps’ lying under the skin. They often leave behind an inflamed red mark behind. Often, the pigmentation scars can be neglected simply by avoiding the nodule or cyst aggravation. Pigmentation scars always nearly vanish with time taking between three months to two years to do so, although they can last indefinitely if uncured.
